Skopje Film Festival

The Skopje Film Festival is a film festival held in Skopje, Macedonia. The five-day-festival takes part every year in March, but this year was in April. Over 50 films are shown at this event, mostly from Macedonia and Europe, but also some non-commercial film productions from all over the world.
This year the festival was held from 15 - 20 April consisting over 50 films mostly from Macedonia, but also from around Europe and wider. The awards were:

- For best Film
- For best Short Film
- For best One - Minute Film

The festival was opened with the film "Punk's Not Dead" by Vladimir Blazevski, starring
Jordan Simonov, Kamka Tocinovski, Toni Mihajlovski, Dzevdet Jasari, Vladimir Tuliev, Flora Dostoska, Kiril Pop-Hristov, Jovica Mihajlovski, Ratka Radmanovic, Hajrullah Ramizi, Emir Redzepi.

On the opening of the festival, Polish film director Krzysztof Zanussi received a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Krzysztof Zanussi, is a Polish producer and film director. He is a professor of European film at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland where he conducts a summer workshop. He is also a professor at the Silesian University in Katowice.

This year, the audience selected "A Woman, a Gun and a Noodle Shop" by Zhang Yimou for Best film.

The winner for Best short film is "Епизодист" by Igor Aleksov.

The winner for Best one-minute film is "Кукуригу" by the authors Дејан Џолев, Влатко Артисто and Крсто Златков.

A festival, filled with art from all over Macedonia, Europe and wider, shown in our beautiful city Skopje, at the most know film festival in Skopje, Skopje Film Festival.
